When I was floundering through my inelegant junior high years, I happened to attend my school’s Halloween dance. Instead of subjecting my gangly frame to the perils of the parquet dance floor, however, I slipped into the auditorium and watched the selected feature movie for the event: “Invasion of the Body Snatchers.”
Released in February of 1956, the black and white cinema classic was directed by Donald Siegel, a man who proved himself master of the eerie clutch at the base of one’s spine.
I spent the next eighty minutes transfixed by a genuinely frightening, chilling exercise in nightmare dislocation as I witnessed the wills, minds and bodies of unsuspecting residents in a small town being taken over, replaced by duplicates hatched from weird pods which had the effect of altering human behavior.
Collier’s Magazine called the science fiction shocker, “The nightmare that threatens the world.»
Crazy as it may sound, the premise of this film has haunted me ever since.
A small-town doctor learns that the population of his community is being replaced by emotionless alien duplicates that evolved from mysterious pods. Curious, the doctor observes the pods were most effective at replacing people when they were asleep. Ironically, a poignant metaphor for today.
The doctor witnesses police officers detaining people just arriving to town. He watches as transformed citizens accept pods to take to their relatives in nearby cities with the notion that soon everyone would be reborn into a better way of life, not unlike present-day society’s “Great Reset”; a resolution that is said to start with “human behavioral modification.”
Although nothing physically or mentally seemed to have changed, once altered, people’s emotional connection to the world had decidedly changed.
So, let’s fast forward from my crew cut hair days to the mysterious epidemic that arrived on the twentieth year of the twenty first century: COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease).
Just before we do, however, I believe it is important to establish that I recognize there are those worldwide who have lost the precious gift of life due to the presence of COVID- 19. For those individuals and their families my heart identifies with their deep sorrow. Distressingly, I fear our present sorrow is about to become a prolonged, collective “wailing and gnashing of teeth” in the days and months ahead.
Adrian Shahbaz, Director for Technology and Democracy at Freedom House—founded on the core conviction that freedom flourishes in democratic nations where governments are accountable to their people and the rule of law prevails— soberly suggests, “Information can be the difference between life and death.”
Shahbaz illustrates: “From the onset of COVID-19 …political considerations clashed with concerns about public health and free expression. Authorities blocked legitimate websites, ordered the removal of unwanted content, and most egregiously, shut down internet service altogether. In at least 20 countries, governments cited the pandemic emergency to impose additional vague or overly broad speech restrictions.”
During a March 2020 interview with Dr. Anthony Fauci–the face of the nation’s COVID-19 response over the last 13 months–hosted by MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, Scarborough asked Fauci to relate one lesson he’s learned. Fauci responded: “Tell the truth … you must be consistent as a scientist and a public health figure.”
A short three months later, in a June 2020 interview with TheStreet, a financial news website, Fauci simply decided that manipulating public opinion was a more important objective than being completely forthright, as telling the truth would not have advanced his or the general public’s alleged interests. In other words, he had to lie.
This brings us to the ‘vaccination.’ What is being touted as a vaccination … is not a vaccine. It’s gene therapy.
“The take-home message here is that these injections are not vaccines. They do not prevent infection, they do not render you immune and they do not prevent transmission of the disease. Instead, they alter your genetic coding, turning you into a viral protein factory that has no off-switch. —Dr. Joseph Mercola, March 16, 2021.
That mysterious epidemic from outer space is once again haunting me.
