The Northwoods Fiber Guild will host their annual Holiday Sale & Open House on Saturday, December 7th at the Grand Marais Art Colony. The sale is a well-known tradition on the north shore featuring quality one-of-a kind fiber crafts by guild members. The doors will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with tasty treats, hands-on activities, fiber demos, music, and plenty of holiday spirit.
A beautiful balsam tree filled with fiber ornaments greets shoppers each year, and NFG artists get to demonstrate their weaving, spinning, felting, and other skills. Everyone is invited to learn a new fiber craft at the Hands on Table, which has become a popular activity for all ages.
There is a wide variety of fiber handcrafts at the Holiday Sale this year including knitting, weaving, felting, quilting, basketry, pottery, and birch bark craft. There will be rugs, wall hangings, paper art, cards, bead work, jewelry, felt sculptures.scarves, hats, mittens, socks, unique clothing, accessories, and other mixed media.
