The holiday season was a memorable one for residents at the North Shore Care Center. There was music, gift giving, traditional foods, carolers, and good times with family and friends. The residents want to thank the local churches, American Legion Auxiliary, Care Center employees, and several families for their generous donations.
2015 is here! There was the usual year-end trivia session, resolutions for a better year, and the first bingo game of 2015 on New Year’s Day!
January will be a less hectic month with National Hobby Month, Soup Month, Activity Professionals’ Week, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and National Pie Day. Two outings are planned with Arrowhead Transit bus for lunch at the Senior Center, and shopping downtown.
The monthly birthday party will be held on Wednesday, January 14 at 3 p.m. to honor Don Sorlie Sr. Cake and ice cream will be served along with piano music by Doug Sanders.

January 18-24 is National Activity Professionals’ Week—a time to recognize how meaningful activities enrich the quality of life at any age. It is also a time to acknowledge the valuable role of the Activity Dept. staff and the many volunteers who make our programs happen all year long.
The first dance of the year welcomes Portage— the award-winning country music band that performs at the Care Center the last Saturday of each month— except for this month! They will shake things up a bit by playing the fourth Saturday, January 24 at 6:30 p.m. As always, we invite families, friends, and community members to join in the fun and dance!
Additional live music in January will feature Myron Bursheim on Sundays, Irene Thompson on Mondays, Al Fuller on Tuesdays, Susan Scherer on Wednesdays, and occasionally Harris Mills on a Friday. We are very lucky to have so many talented musicians who volunteer on a regular basis at the Care Center throughout the year.
