Library restoration work begins

Grand Marais’ library facility sustained damage this spring, when it flooded in from the floor along the North, hillside wall. Restoration work is scheduled to begin the fourth week of August causing some service interruptions. The tentative schedule, which follows, and any updates will be posted on the library’s website.

Pickup window service will be offered on Monday, August 22. Tuesday through Thursday, the library will be fully closed to the public while an internal drainage system is installed. The library’s Wi-Fi signal can be accessed from outside the building during that time, and downloadable books are available through the library’s website. The library plans to resume pickup window service on Friday and Saturday, and full service by Monday, August 29, 2022. Said Library Director Amanda St. John,” This is just the beginning of the work. We’ll do our best to minimize closures. Thank you to all for your support and patience.”
