The Elders have had a busy December. We worked a successful holiday craft sale, selling soup and Christmas cookies on December 7.

We celebrated together at our annual Christmas party on December 8. We enjoyed the band Portage with guest singers Toby Stevens and Ralph Tesser. There was a delicious buffet at Grand Portage Lodge. Board members Carol Hackett and Bill Myers did a wonderful job shopping for the door prizes. Dido Swader, Bill Myers and John Note were great at selecting the menu and Dido was a terrific emcee. Bill Hackett provided transportation for the event with a tour of lights afterwards. Miigwech to the board and all the volunteers! You made this a memorable party for us all.

The Elders shopped till they dropped in Duluth on December 11 and enjoyed traditional Christmas foods including breakfast at the ENP throughout the month. We are tired but looking forward to 2014.

The New Year will continue to be busy. There are plans for a Wii game night with the youth in January as well as a Medicine Talk. Remember all Wisdom Step participants to get your steps and medical information to Carol Hackett by December 31, 2013. This information is needed to be eligible for your pins, certificate & T-shirt at the 2014 convention.

We could still use a few Elders to listen to children read, especially on Tuesdays. If you are interested, please contact Carol at (218) 475-2655.

The ENP staff wishes everyone a very happy and healthy New Year!
