We continue to stay busy with our weekly activities of cribbage, Water Aerobics, Wisdom Steps and our “Reading with Kids” program. Elders celebrating the holidays

The Grand Portage ENP Elders are in full-on holiday mode. The Elders had a successful holiday craft sale on December 2, selling two kinds of soup and homemade Christmas cookies. Grand Portage Elders’ fall events a success

I have been out of town on vacation in Kenya. Had an extraordinary trip. Although I wasn’t around for some of the ENP activities, everything carried on as planned. The Elders with assistance from our ENP cooks baked and decorated about 40 cakes for the annual Halloween carnival. Another 15 were donated for a total of 55 cakes and cupcakes.... READ MORE >

Work begins on new vegetable hoop house

The ENP has been reaping the benefits of all the gardens and hoop houses in Grand Portage. We are enjoying an abundance of tomatoes, sweet carrots, peppers, cucumbers and soon squash. Grand Portage Elders mark the end of summer

The Elders are marking the end of summer with outdoor activities. We need to enjoy the warm weather while we can. Eight Elders enjoyed the “Rez Ride” on August 29. Busy and successful Rendezvous for Elders

The Elders had a very successful Rendezvous Days. The renovated fish shack worked great. It was much more spacious and more efficient. All of the building modifications, new equipment, signage and new food product made this a profitable weekend. The ENP director picked up the new 2017, 14-passenger, handicap bus. It is wonderful! Rides like a dream and has all the bells and whistles.
