The Northwoods Fiber Guild is pleased to announce an exhibition of fiber art entitled, Through Our Hands V. The exhibit will open at the Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery in Grand Marais on June 22 and run through July 16.

The show will feature a variety of fiber works created by NFG members – all local artisans who live along the North Shore and Thunder Bay. The collection will showcase weaving, knitting, felting, hand-spun yarn, quilting, paper, bead work, jewelry, basketry, wood carving, clothing, accessories, wall hangings, rugs, and other mixed media. Most of the art will be for sale.

This is the guild’s fifth exhibition at the HP, and as in past years there will be plenty to enjoy – from incredible fiber wonders to tasty hors d’oeuvres.

The opening reception of Through Our Hands V will be held on Friday, June 22 from 5-7 p.m. at the JHP gallery. Everyone is welcome to this exhibit and to join NFG members as they celebrate 30 years as a guild. During the four weekends of the show several fiber artists will be present to demonstrate the skills of their craft.

The Johnson Heritage Post is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The JHP is closed on Tuesdays. For more information about Through Our Hands V, go to Facebook@NorthwoodsFiberGuild.
