County supports broadband initiative

Forest Service fights small fires in Lutsen, Grand Marais

The US Forest Service was dispatched to two fires last week, in Lutsen and Grand Marais. Both were fortunately extinguished before causing significant damage. A house burned to its foundation in Grand Marais on Saturday, July 11, but it was not a loss. In fact, the fire provided invaluable training for firefighters. Angler dies at Lutsen lake

Robert “Bob” Willard Cain, 74, of Wabasha, MN, died after the boat he was fishing from capsized on White Pine Lake in Lutsen.
