A relaxing fall for Grand Portage Elders

The Elders had a relaxing September. We enjoyed our Rendezvous Days Volunteer Cook-Out and Pot Luck. Many people were able to attend and ate some delicious food. The Elders have begun preparations for Rendezvous Days. Miigwech to Bob and Eddie Hertzberg for getting all the fresh herring cut, frozen, bagged and ready for fish nuggets. The Elders held their St Patrick’s Day bingo and stew cook-off on March 21, the first full day of spring. Thirteen stews were entered and after all was tasted and judged, Rick Johnson was the winner. The Grand Portage Elders had a very successful 8th Annual Chili Cook Off and Meat Bingo at the Grand Portage Lodge on November 15. The event raised about $1,100.
