Get ready to zumba!

Community Education has scheduled two zumba classes over the next two months. The first, Feel the Music, is a one-hour session in which participants will laugh and sweat all at the same time. You will feel energized without knowing you did your heart and lungs a big favor. Bring shoes that give you enough support without a lot of traction, and a small towel and water.

The classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays Sept. 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26 and Oct. 1, 3, 8, 10, 15 and 17 from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. at the Community Gym. A 10-punch pass is available for $50. Chris Angelo, CPT and certified zumba instructor, will lead the group.

Zumba Gold is a fitness program specifically designed to take the exciting Latin and international dance rhythms created in the original zumba program and bring them to the active older adult, the beginner participant and anyone else who may need modifications in their exercise program.

Zumba Gold is not done from a chair. It will be approximately 45 minutes in duration, taking you all the way from warm-up to cool down. This is an effective class for mind, body and soul.

These sessions are offered Mondays and Wednesdays, Sept. 10 through Oct. 17 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and cost is $50 for a 10-class punch card. They will be held at the 4H log cabin at the Cook County Community Center with instructor Chris Angelo.
