Your opinion—and your vote—is important




Did you know that the 1% tax that so many are in a hurry to spend can be put into an interest-bearing account with no time limit on when to use it? I didn’t.

Did you know that $1.8 million of the 1% tax money has already been spent? Spent on ideas and plans and carts that were put before the horse? I didn’t.

Did you know that a county commissioner’s responsibilities include making sure that this county of 5,000 people and its many county entities work and live within the means of this county?

Did you know that the word steering (as in steering committee) means to steer one in a particular direction?

Did you know that federal money is not free money? It is tax money. It is money that comes from you and me and that when we take it for a county project we burden ourselves with more tax debt? I do.

Did you know that as a resident of this county, your opinion is important whether it is the same as mine or not? I do.

Do you know that if this county and its representatives don’t start talking about what this county needs rather than what it wants we will no longer be able to afford to live here? I do.

Did you know that elections are coming up soon and it is time to VOTE and make a difference because you can make a difference? I do.
