Need a covid booster but don’t think you’re qualified? Check your body mass index (BMI). Anyone 18+ who has a BMI of 25 or greater qualifies for a booster according to the CDC’s definitions of qualifying underlying medical conditions. That’s 70 percent of Minnesota’s population and many in Cook County who may not think they have a qualifying underlying medical condition may have a BMI of over 25. If you have a BMI over 25, it means that you qualify for a booster.
If you aren’t sure of your BMI, you can check it at the CDC’s website: www.cdc.gov/healthyweight/assessing/bmi/adult_bmi/english_bmi_calculator/bmi_calculator.html The list of all qualifying underlying medical conditions is on the CDC›s website here: www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/need-extra-precautions/people-with-medical-conditions.html
If you qualify, don’t delay getting your booster. For the common good of the people of this county and in light of the recent outbreaks, let’s all get boosted if we qualify.
Thank you,
Bryan Hansel,
