As it gets closer to the Hayward Lumberjack World Championships the North Shore Rollers will pick up their practice and attend as many log rolling competitions as they are able. Recently (from left) Ali Duclos, Paige and Taylor Everson competed in the LaCrosse log rolling meet and all performed well.

Three North Shore Rollers ventured (with their parents) to the 17th annual LaCrosse Open log rolling tournament and two came home with some hardware while one just missed out on a medal.

The tournament was held Saturday, June 17, in Lacrosse, Wisconsin.

Rolling in her first tournament of the year, Taylor Everson took second place in a deep field of U10 girls, the largest age group in the meet. Teammate Ali Duclos also had a great tournament, finishing third in the U10 girls’ division right behind Taylor. Both train with each together and each pushes the other to get better and better.

Last year’s U13 girls’ amateur world champion Paige Everson moved up to the U17 age group, and finished just out of the medals in fourth place.

“All of the girls had a long day of log rolling in the heat and sun but they pushed through to make another great showing at LaCrosse,” said Andrea Peterson, the mother of Paige and Taylor.
