YMCA donors make a difference

The Cook County Community YMCA has completed a successful campaign to raise funds for our scholarship program. CCCYMCA has provided around $40,000 a year in scholarships for youth, families, and individuals to make sure nobody was turned away for the inability to pay

We have raised close to $35,000 for our annual campaign in 2015. The campaign includes Ham Run, Banner Campaign for Large Gifts, and 100 Donors-100 Dollars-100 Days. We have had over 100 concerned citizens contribute to these fundraisers.

CCCYMCA’s mission is dedicated to putting the principles of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. These programs are life changers for those seeking better health, well being, and longevity. Those who donate to our scholarship campaign make sure that everyone has access to these wonderful opportunities for life enhancement. We currently have 1,580 members (70 percent adult, 30 percent youth) who are doing so through our programs.

As chair of the CCCYMCA Advisory Council, I get to observe how successful our staff is in making all this happen. I witness how concerned and effective our Advisory Council works to make sure we are fiscally and sociably responsible in developing our strategic plans.

It is with sincere and humble gratitude that I thank all those who are willing to make a difference in making this a better and healthier community for all!

CCCYMCA Advisory Council
