WTIP North Shore Community Radio is issuing an invitation to community members to participate in a new project designed to bring more community voices to the air.
The project, which is funded by the Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation, will provide training and opportunities for community members interested in creating and sharing audio features on a variety of topics and subjects. “We want to provide an opportunity for community members to produce content focused on their interests,” said Patrick Knight, who is leading the project. “I’m here to help guide people through the process, to help them create content to share.”
Participants can work with Knight to identify topics, learn how to record, and turn recorded material into features that will be shared on air. According to WTIP, the parameters are flexible and the time commitment varies depending on the interests and needs of the participants.
“If you’re interested in making audio features for the radio, or if you’re interested in video production, please contact me so we can talk about moving forward,” Knight said. He can be reached at Patrick@wtip.org.
Knight will be holding the first workshop, which will cover gathering audio recordings, on Wednesday, February 11 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Anyone interested in joining the project is encouraged to attend the training, or to contact Knight to arrange another meeting.
