I read with great interest Nancy Wasik’s letter entitled “Fear of Muslim immigrants is unjustified.” The issue is one about which I had heretofore given but little thought, so I decided to do a little research, and contact recognized experts on the subject.
First, I sought out the 40 people who had been aboard Flight 93, then the 184 workers at the Pentagon, and finally the 2,752 employees at the World Trade Center. None responded.
Then I tried contacting 13 soldiers at Fort Hood, but again, no luck. Lastly, I sought 19 people in San Bernardino.
Amazingly, all of these people, and hundreds of other non-combatant Americans were killed by terrorists since the early ’70s. Fortunately, the referenced letter did have at least one educational aspect: it vastly expanded our understanding of the word “comatose.”
