Jerry Hiniker’s duplicitous letter of a week ago shows an abject inability to discern between hatred and opinion. He puts loathsome words in the mouths of people who never used them while hinting at his own morally righteous tolerance of everything mortal.
He basically calls Daryl Popkes, Tim Piepho, Greg Gecas, and Gordon Salisbury haters. As a case in point, I reread Gordon Salisbury’s letter looking for his “intense hatred for Jeff Cadwell” as Hiniker contends; it wasn’t there. Nor did I find Gordon refer to Mr. Cadwell as a “vile manager” as Hiniker also submits. Both of those phrases are Hiniker’s own.
I agreed whole-heartedly with Gordon’s assessments of the current administrator’s job performance and I don’t hate Mr. Cadwell or anyone else in this world. Hate is a very strong and excessively used word by people who object to other’s viewpoints and ironically, Mr. Hiniker uses it nearly a dozen times while Gordon never uses it at all.
It seems that there are far too many citizens in this country who lament the divisiveness that has infected the nation yet do their best to promote it.
