Dear Editor,
I remember the movie, Mr. Smith goes to Washington.
Until recently this was my impression of the filibuster. Now I hear President Biden suggesting that there is no longer standing and speaking required. Yet even after this theatrical posturing, the vote must still be 60 yesses. After learning about the abuses of this tactic historically, I want to see the filibuster withdrawn. The Senate is not functioning. So, as a concerned constituent, I say it is time to end the filibuster. If you agree with me, please contact our Senators to let them know.
