Free speech is one of the cornerstones of our democracy. Through it, we are exposed to varied ideas and perspectives. The New Herald’s Letters To The Editor section is a good example of this, with many fresh and diverse comments every week.
It makes me wonder why the Do You Know? column, a stale political rant, continues to be presented there week after week, month after tiresome month. Placed front and center and taking up a half page, it appears to represent our community when it is actually just one voice.
I suggest it be placed elsewhere in the paper, like any other regular column.
