Writer thanks the people who hosted Moose Madness

While I was in town yesterday, Friday, there was extensive foot traffic one needed to be on the lookout for crossing the downtown highway and streets. It was a zoo. Yet, it was a lovely sight to see so many families that had invaded the town for this very special MEA weekend with parents and grandparents with children in tow as they enjoyed all the family activities throughout the town for this special annual event. What a blessing to see. Family time together. Moose Madness had once again infected our community of Grand Marais.

I encountered one young fella taking photos of various items of interest in Java Moose while I sat there sipping my tea while enjoying the company of a friend. When my eyes landed on this young fella he was taking a photo of the half-a-cub mounted on the south-facing wall. I got his attention and asked him if he was planning on taking a photo of the other «tail» half on the outside of the building, too. His eyes lit up and he excitedly asked me if what I said was true. I chuckled and told him «No, but wouldn›t it be funny if the other half was, in fact, out there?»

He then got all animated and shared with me the time he and his family had visited another place somewhere on their travels that had the front half of a moose on the inside wall of a building. And, the backend mounted on the outside wall of the building, too. We shared a great laugh together over that one. Fun day yesterday!

Thank you and God bless to all who make this special family event possible.
