In response to Mr. Hiniker’s letter of last week. First off, most reasonable people don’t start out a discussion with the predictable diatribe of insults of the President, but It’s been the mainstay of the left for years and I should not have expected less, so it’s with great hesitation that I even respond.
But let’s look at some of his claims. He refers to the President as “The Great Divider,” but 72 percent of Americans feel that the mainstream media is more to blame than he (Washington Examiner, November 2018) and it has been for some time. Admittedly, the President contributes plenty and I’m not defending his personality, but he’s been badgered, lied about, spied on, and accused of collusion since before he even took office. All of it based on a false narrative and a phony document paid for by the DNC and Clinton campaign. To top it off, Democrats, who have yet to accept the results of the last election, have the gall to ask if President Trump will accept the results of the coming contest!
On fascism, as pointed out by Mr. Hiniker’s own definition, is the “forcible suppression of opposition,” the very tenant which I pointed out. Go to “Headline USA:” just a few days ago Antifa Thugs Attack Conservative Free Speech Protesters in San Francisco . This ain’t your parents Antifa and comparing them to the heroes who freed Europe is a true disservice to our people in uniform. Mr. Hiniker, should carry an American Flag to an Antifa Rally and try to have a reasoned and amicable discussion.
The rioting, looting, and building burning in so many cities around the country after George Floyd’s murder has never been proven to be the work of white supremacist groups, yet he states it as fact. So, when we see the many videos, we’re to believe lame excuses rather than our own eyes.
The Republic. Mr. Hiniker also misrepresents my position on a Republic and seems to think a straight democracy would be better. Looking again at the reasoning of the founding fathers we find that John Adams stated “democracy never lasts….There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.” Venezuela come to mind? Jefferson described a democracy as “nothing more than mob rule.” But Ben Franklin summed it up best as “Two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for dinner.”
The outright lie that the President has never denounced white supremacy is tiring. See Feb 11, 2020 FactCheck.org. He has condemned these radicals before taking office and many times since, including last week on NBC.
As for public education, Mr. Hiniker states that the “public system that works for all of us” should not be tampered with. Just a short time ago Baltimore had 13 public high schools where no students were proficient in math. Zero! Over seventy percent of Black parents in poor neighborhoods in New York City, Chicago, and other large cities want the choice for their children to attend charter schools. For the education aspect and also safety. I believe they should have that choice.
Trump doesn’t pay taxes. Onerous for sure, but not illegal and I’m sure he’s not the only one in high tax brackets. Good businessman or not, he made his money in the private sector, while the former vice-president enriched himself as a “servant of the people.”
Yes, I admit to taking some license when describing the process taking place at Planned Parenthood, but if Mr. Hiniker feels that it’s more civilized to “incinerate” unborn humans rather than tossing them out, then wow, who can argue with that.
As far as I.D.s at polling stations, what’s to stop the cheaters out there from going to a polling station and asking for someone else’s ballot?
But let’s talk about Mr. Biden. I have to believe President Obama’s own Defense Secretary, Robert Gates, when he clearly and for the record stated that Joe Biden has “been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.” He’s going to stand up to China?
But the former V.P. might just win. Then we can all relax in a Utopian World with two windmills on every hill and a psychologist in every squad car.
If Joe does win I’m not going to sit around for years stewing in my own anger like the Maddows, Lemons, and many other libs of the world. Nope, I’m just going to sit back and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us up here and wait for the people to come and take me to the re-education camp. And on my way there, I’ll be praying that it’s not run by Mr. Hiniker.
