Editor,
You devoted one-third of a page to one letter writer in the January 9 issue of the paper. That’s surprisingly generous, but the content is much more distressing.
I believe 89 or 90 judges, many appointed by the current president, could not find one—that’s ONE— instance of fraud in elections challenged across the country by the President and followers such as the letter writer. Yet all that space is given to what? Speculation, bad dreams, unfounded claims? I think a paper must render some judgment when presented with such a letter. Freedom of speech is important, but this is an unfortunate and fact-challenging display of abuse of that freedom.
Opinions do not equal facts or render them so. The writer closes with scripture—not surprising knowing this writer– but to focus on “Truth” in this context when the record she supports is so lacking in recognizing that word. This letter is a stretch warranting this paper to pause and exercise some judgment in devoting all that space, paper and ink to. It did fit nicely next to the regular columnist. I was hoping for better with new ownership so I guess I’ll have to wait and see.
