Writer likes Gamble’s column

I live in Overland Missouri and vacation in Grand Marais every year with my husband.

Each week we look forward to the paper, which we think is very fair in publishing people who differ in opinions.

That in fact makes the paper that more interesting to read.

As Janis mentions in her letter Garry Gamble is allowed a 2 to 4-inch column each week. Personally my husband and I do enjoy Garry’s column.

We do subscribe to the paper, as does Janis.

Is it too much to ask to let us enjoy 2 to 4 inch of the paper (about 2 per cent) while she can have the rest?

In addition I would like to address her mention of the “biblical passages.”

A few years ago I lost both of my parents the same year and made two trips to France where they lived (I was born there) for the funerals.

While there I had a chance to talk to the priest who conducted the funeral and he proceeded telling me how lucky I was to live in a Christian country. I only wish you could hear and talk to him about living in a country which has become increasingly secular.

So please, everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. This is what this country is all about or I thought so anyway.

The world does not revolve around one person but to the contrary around all of us.

P.S. Garry Gamble looking forward to your next column!
