Writer “grouses” about wild turkeys

Apparently, Cory Christianson does not understand nor care that wild turkeys eat grouse eggs and grouse chicks. They were introduced in southern Pine County by the DNR over 10 years ago and since have become an invasive species.

We see flocks of 10 to 25 on a regular basis (daily!) and no grouse. The DNR planting oak trees, which are not indigenous to Cook County, will not help matters any. I hope to see a lot of fat wolves and fox from dining on turkeys.
