Writer disagrees with Gamble’s column about COVID-19 vaccinations

Typically, I do not read Gamble’s column. It is consistently a string of quotes mined from a variety of sources arranged to make his points without citation contexts. However, I was prompted to read the April 17 column as a friend called me deeply offended by its content – a screed belying the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccinations. This seems to be Gamble’s reasoning: Invasion of the Body Snatchers, a film seen as a youth, depicts a community doing something with “pods” (not defined) that leave the populace woefully disengaged from their connection to the world. This was scary to the youth and remained so into Gamble’s adulthood.

Along came COVID- 19 and the successful development of vaccines that purport to be, depending on which one, variously 75 to 95 percent effective in immunizing people against the COVID-19 virus.

Oh oh, we skip to the importance of truth telling, citing an employee of Freedom House, a D.C. think tank, whose mission is to “…counter falsehoods by delivering clear, accurate, and UpToDate information” about public issues. This is principal number 4 in the organization’s “Principles for Protecting Civil Rights During a Pandemic”. This same employee states that the pandemic is being used by some governments to effect egregious restrictions on civil rights and free speech. The U.S. is not on his list.

Next, we read that Dr. Fauci, imminent virologist in a TV interview, reaffirmed a public health official’s responsibility to tell the truth to the public. But, in a later interview cited by Gamble, he infers that Dr. Fauci actually lied to the public by admitting that he engaged in public manipulation in the pursuit of some public health goal. Now we get to the point of this column: Debunk vaccinations and their capacity to immunize against COVID-19 because vaccinations are really gene therapy, and we haven’t been told this truth. This revelation is found in a quote from a Dr. Joseph Mercola, an osteopath that sells dietary products online and maybe by retail in Pharma stores. Vaccinations according to Mercola do not immunize rather they alter your genes thus causing a continual cascade of proteins which do something, but what is not stated. This brings us back to the Body Snatchers and their mysterious pods equating pod action with the mysterious action of the contents of a vaccine. For clarification, gene therapy targets specific genes known to cause specific diseases. COVID- 19 is caused by a virus.

I read into Gamble’s column that he is skeptical of vaccines, that they do mysterious damage to the body and we have not been told the truth about them because the government wants to use the pandemic as an excuse to better control citizens. Now that’s scary thinking.

Finally, is Gamble telling us to not get vaccinated? Are public health officials such as the dedicated team in Cook County lying to us about the need to get vaccinated? To what end? Are the many citizens in the county actually altering their behavior because of their vaccines? We need to know the truth, Mr. Gamble. By the way, Pharma is offering COVID-19 vaccinations and Freedom House is dedicated to countering demonstrated falsehoods. Choose your citations carefully Mr. Gamble.
