Writer decries Confederate Flag and what it stands for

Dear readers,

I saw today, a really cool sports car traveling up the Gunflint Trail. Except its coolness was diminished by the prominent Confederate Flag license plate in the front. I wondered if the owner realizes what that flag represents. It represents a denial of the rights of the United States Constitution. That flag represents the belief that only white men should govern the county, state and country; that businesses run by white men should not have any restrictions; that Black and Brown people should not be allowed to vote; that no religious beliefs other than Christian should be recognized or allowed in the United State; that states have a right to make laws however they want even if opposing the Constitution and Supreme Court decisions. Yes, it was a cool car EXCEPT not.
