Gail Gieseke is a write-in candidate for the Cook County Soil & Water Board. Prior to moving to Cook County was a veterinarian and owned and operated a companion animal veterinary clinic in Chaska, Minnesota.
“We had 6 DVMs and approximately 24 support staff when I left, I had started with myself and one part time DVM plus 6 support staff in 1997. I definitely have management and “people” skills in my background. Happy to be retired and able to give back to my “new” community.
“Other volunteering commitments include, being a UMN Cook County Extension Master Gardener, the MPCA Volunteer Water Monitor for Greenwood Lake, a member of the IDS #166 Education Foundation and a member of the Gunflint Trails Scenic Byways Committee.” Why does she want to serve on the Soil & Water Board?
I am a full-time resident of Cook County, lucky to be living on Greenwood Lake. My husband and I retired here in 2018, after almost 30 years in rural Carver County. I did spend many summers as a child and younger adult camping and exploring the North Shore and Gunflint Trail, especially enjoying many canoe trips in the BWCAW. I knew at a young age how important the lakes, rivers and forests were, and how incredibly fortunate we are, as Minnesotans to have these treasures within our state.
“I have an interest and desire to take on the tasks as a Cook County Soil & Water Supervisor board member to help maintain good conservation of the land and waters of our county, be a grassroots spokesperson for conservation and environmental issues and help to guide our county officials into the future of the environmental needs of our residents.
I would appreciate your vote as a Write-In candidate for Soil & Water District #4 Supervisor. You can be confident I will represent our district to the best of my ability. Thank you, Gail A. Gieseke.”
