Wrapping up and looking ahead

The Grand Marais Playhouse ended its 42nd season on a great note! Doo- Wop Wed Widing Hood was well performed by all 62 actors and audiences loved it. Over 750 tickets were sold for this community youth production. The Playhouse will be able to pay its rent to the school district again this year. Woo-hoo!

Thanks to the grants from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council, Arrowhead Electric Cooperative and the donation of fabric from Gale Hedstrom, each of the girls was allowed to keep her 1950s-style poodle skirt and those who didn’t wear one on stage were given one.

Still available for purchase from the Wed Widing Hood set is one soda fountain table and stool set and two individual stools from the set. The funky soda fountain furniture is available for purchase “as is.”

Photo CDs of the show will be available next week from the Playhouse office between 1-3 p.m. for all cast members. If those times don’t work for pick up, please schedule another time with Sue.

The Grand Marais Playhouse’s latest production Doo-Wop Wed Widing Hood was a roaring success, thanks in large part to the cute and talented chorus decked out in ‘50s style scarves and poodle skirts.

Making everyone laugh was Sam Sietsema as “Loud Prince Frank.” He successfully met the challenges set before him by the Evil Queen and won the chance to woo Little Red Riding Hood, played by Hazel Oberholtzer.
