World class pipe dream

Taxpayer owned Superior National Golf Course was a pipe dream that became reality. But the reality of pipe dreams is, they don’t always work out.

Although the world class award-winning golf course has been in about every golf magazine, some folks want you to believe no one knows about the golf course or Cook County as a vacation destination place. They believe they can buy a slice of golf heaven with your never-ending pot of tax dollars.

I have a business plan for the golf course too. It won’t cost one tax dollar. In fact, it will save many millions of tax dollars.

It’s time to sell Superior National. We can sink $3 million into it and increase the subsidy to $225,000 a year forever, but it won’t be worth one dollar more to the taxpayer. It was never meant to cost local tax dollars but it is and it’s getting more expensive by the week.

The best part of my plan is the new owners will be professionals on the job fulfilling the dream because they won’t have a neverending pot of tax dollars to subsidize a pipe dream!
