Workshops on computer use presented by Community Ed

Cook County Higher Ed is offering a short evening workshop, How to Use Windows 8, on Monday, Oct. 7, from 7-9 p.m. This is an overview of the new system and is of particular value to those who do not have a touch-screen computer.

The workshop will be held at the North Shore Campus in Grand Marais and instructed by Don Bremer of the Center for Economic Development at UMD.

The following day, Higher Education will offer two modules of Excel training, also with Don Bremer. The training will include Excel II: Beyond the basics of spreadsheets and Excel III: Macros and functions.

The cost for each module is $60, or $120 for the day. This is the same price put on this training by UMD in Duluth classrooms. But to get the two modules, you would need to travel to and from Duluth on two separate days. Both are offered here on the same day, saving those who attend the cost and time of two trips to Duluth.

This event was made possible thanks to a generous Workforce Development Grant from Iron Range Resources.

To register for the Excel workshops or for more information, e-mail highered@northshorecampus.org or call 387-3411.
