Working with YMCA on community center is positive

I met YMCA Representative Chris Francis when he was in Grand Marais for community and school board meetings regarding the new community center. I think it is an incredible opportunity for our community to have the YMCA considering partnering with us! Mr. Francis has been very open and has provided a lot of information about what the YMCA can do/bring to the community center.

We are excited about having a stateof the-art multi-purpose facility—and having the YMCA programming, expertise, fundraising, etc. be a part of it is an unexpected bonus! What a unique opportunity for the Cook County community – a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The YMCA is a very reputable nonprofit organization that knows how to partner with local communities successfully. Having the opportunity to tap into their experiences, expertise, and knowledge as well as their fundraising, national recognition, scholarships, programming, etc. all while implementing and utilizing local individuals is priceless.

The community center is for US, the community of Cook County. Having a multi-purpose, state-of-theart facility—and a safe place for our kids—is important. Multi-generational programming brings the community together. Scholarships are available for those who cannot afford the membership fees – no one is ever denied membership because of money. The YMCA’s involvement opens the doors for stability and opportunities for use by others outside of the county as well.

Let’s show the YMCA that Cook County is a positive and encouraging community!

Count on us for a family membership!
