Woods, Winds & Strings concert set for August 13

Local classical and jazz musicians will once again perform in concert at the Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department, Hall 1 at Mid-Trail. The concert begins at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13 and will be followed by a reception at the adjacent Schaap Community Center.

Musicians performing this year include Philis Anderson, oboe; Kathy Bolstad, clarinet; Karina Roth, vocal and piano; Erika Ternes, vocal and violin; Robert Reed, trumpet; Fred Anderson, guitar; Hugh and Nancy Magill, piano; Sky Blue Jazz Ensemble and Orange Girl: Erik Hahn, saxophone; Mike Roth, bass; Thomas Stamps, percussion; Karina Roth, vocal; Mike DeBevec, vocal and piano.

Ticket prices are $20, adult; $5, children ages 5-18; and under age 5, children are free. Seating is limited, so reservations must be made by calling Patsy Coleman at (313) 673- 6202, or by email at pcoleman@chem.wayne.edu. Credit cards and checks are accepted. Proceeds, after expenses, go to the Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department.
