Dig into dinosaurs July 11 at the Grand Marais Public Library when the Science Museum of Minnesota presents Wonders of Science: Dinosaurs at 10:30 a.m.
The 40-minute program will include an opportunity to uncover fossils, see real-life fossils and assemble a life-size dinosaur skeleton puzzle.
The learning goals of the program hope to explain how science is the process of making observations, collecting data and making interpretations based on the physical evidence. The program will focus on how different theories may explain the same set of observations and how models are used to learn about real life objects and events. Children will get to explore how fossils provide evidence of plants and animals that lived long ago.
The program is designed with ages K-2nd grade in mind and is sponsored by the Arrowhead Library System as part of Kid’s Stuff summer programming.
The dinosaur program will also be presented at the Two Harbors Public Library at 3:30 p.m. July 8; and at the Silver Bay Re-Union Hall, at 3:30 p.m. July 11.
