Woerheide graduates Flight School

On Aug. 5, 2010, Warrant Officer Jon T. Woerheide, son of Jon and Wendi Woerheide, Lutsen, graduated from the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. Jon was one of 31 who graduated, and who are now pilots of the Army’s UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter. Just prior to the pinning ceremony, Warrant Officer Woerheide asked his mom to do the honor of pinning on his wings.

Jon is currently stationed at Ft. Drum, NY where he is part of the 10th Mountain Division. He will be deploying to eastern Afghanistan the end of October—a tour that will last for one year. Jon is scheduled to be promoted in November to Chief Warrant Officer.

Jon is a 2001 graduate from Cook County High School, and the grandson of John and Debbie Woerheide, Lutsen and Tom and Ann Wilks, Alvin, TX.
