Once again hardy lovers-of-winter gathered at the North House Folk School for the Winterer’s Gathering and Arctic Film Festival at the Grand Marais campus. Visitors to the North House campus were treated to a tour of the various types of tents that can be used for winter camping.
There was a full house for the Deep Freeze Chili Feed on Saturday, November 19, including Buddy Skinner of Grand Marais (center, in yellow jacket).
The Great Gear & Ski Swap has become a wonderful winter shopping experience. People can purchase skis, skates, winter camping gear— or coats. There was a great selection of winter jackets on hand at the swap this year.
There were a number of family-friendly classes over the weekend. Author/illustrator Lauren Stringer shares the art of snowflake craft with some interested kids and parents.
