Winter Tracks Festival set for Feb. 25-28





The Winter Tracks Festival on the Gunflint Trail includes a variety of winter activities— snowshoeing, snowmobiling, Nordic skiing, dining and dancing, and once again—broomball! Another highlight of the festival is snow sculpting. Head up the trail Feb. 25-28 and join the fun!

Ever wonder what winter is like on the Gunflint Trail?

More and more families are discovering the classic outdoor fun of wintertime games and activities in the North Woods, and the 6th Annual Winter Tracks Festival is the perfect time to join in the fun!

Events include the Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club Trout Derby; snowshoeing the obstacle course; mini winter Olympics; snowmobile poker run; broomball; Mongolian firepot dinner; and dining and dancing with the “Trail’s End Band.”

The activities will be held Feb. 25-28 at various locations on the Gunflint Trail.

Cross-country ski races are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday (do the entire race or choose to do one day); Freestyle Race starts at 10 a.m. Saturday. There will be a mass start on East Bearskin Lake in front of Bearskin Lodge. The race continues on the very challenging Bear Cub loop, then finishes on the lake.

 

 

Classic Race begins at 10:00 a.m. Sunday. There will be a timed start on East Bearskin Lake in front of Bearskin Lodge, then along the Beaver Dam Loop, with a finish on the lake.
