Over the last decade few Viking varsity players have been more fun to watch than Will Ramberg, a 6’3” guard/forward whose game has gotten markedly better each year.

On Friday, February 8 the hard-working senior was honored for something rarely achieved by any player to wear a Viking uniform.

Will was asked to come to the center of the basketball court before the start of the game and presented with the basketball used in the road game against the Cromwell Cardinals where he went over 1,000 points for his high school career.

His former head varsity coach and now K-12 assistant principal Mitch Dorr presented Will, who was flanked by his parents in the center of the gym, with the game ball used in the Vikings match-up against the Cardinals.

“Will has been living in the gym since I met him,” said Mitch, adding, “And at times we have had to kick him out of the gym when it was time to close. Will has put in a lot of hard work to become the fine player he is today and he’s really great in the classroom as well.

“I’m really proud of him,” said Dorr, who handed the ball to Will as the crowd cheered loudly and stood, giving this fine senior a standing ovation that was well deserved.
