Cook County High School freshman Will Lamb’s Alpine ski season was marked all season long by success, but it got even better when he finished 14th out of a field of 89 skiers at the Alpine State Meet.

The Alpine State Meet was held at Giants Ridge on Wednesday, February 12.

Seventh-grader Reilly Wahlers shocked everyone at Sectionals on February 4 by just qualifying for state. Early jitters got to her and Reilly fell on her first run but her second run propelled her to a 49th place out of 88 girls, truly a great performance from this young phenom.

“We are proud of these two athletes and our entire CCHS Alpine ski team,” said Alpine Head Coach Charles Lamb.

Top Northland finishers were Megan Danelski of Hermantown (3rd) and Alex Derocher of Cloquet- Esko-Carlton (7th). Blake High School won the boys’ team title while Minnetonka High School won the girls’ team title.
