The Gunflint and Tofte Ranger Districts of the Superior National Forest are recruiting wilderness ranger volunteers to work in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
Wanted are individuals who are passionate about wild lands and interested in a career in natural resource management. Wilderness volunteers receive a reimbursement of approved expenses (about $200 per trip), free housing if needed, and a great career experience working in one of the most unique wilderness areas in the country.
Applicants should have multi-day backcountry camping experience, ability to communicate effectively with both public and co-workers, and be safety conscious in backcountry settings. Dates for the season are approximately June 2 through Aug. 22.
