The current levy and tacked-on additions facing the people of Cook County are no small laughing matter. It’s insanity at its best. How many can afford that amount? Twenty-six percent total? (As printed in the paper three issues ago.)
The commissioners need to come clean on how they can “justify” all this. Do you really think they spent a great deal of time trying to solve any problems or fix issues? Not by that number.
With all the committees they sit on it is questionable they have any time to fix anything. Let’s see: District 5 commissioner sits on 44 committees. District 4 commissioner sits on 52 committees.
District 3 commissioner sits on 36 committees. District 2 commissioner sits on 40 committees, and District 1 commissioner sits on nine committees. It seems the commissioner from District 1 is the one person who has time to fix anything. This information was taken off the county website.
At some point, you need to ask yourselves what the heck are they doing? They refuse to trim or fix anything that is county related. How many people does it take to run a county with only 5,194 in it? Good question.
Then there is the build it, and they will come mentality. Problem is you have those in the county who want this to continue and as always with taxpayer funds. So the commissioners keep okaying all these projects, fund them with your money when needed, and then throw taxes at you till you pass out.
The power brokers of this county and commissioners it seems are trying to move an agenda ahead. The contents of that agenda are not being disclosed in full to you the people, but they are more than happy to spend your money.
It is obvious that our county government is now dysfunctional and can’t say no, so it is up to the people of this county to stand up and say NO.
Very loudly, before it’s too late. Start thinking “attorney”…
