Who should be 2010 Citizen of the Year?




Once again the Cook County Lions Club is seeking nominations for two very special awards—Cook County Citizen of the Year and Cook County Senior Citizen of the Year 2010. Nominations are sought for individuals who have made Cook County a better place to live.

Last year’s recipients were Citizen of the Year Dick Parker and Senior Citizens of the Year Gladys and George “Whitey” Dockan. They were honored guests in the Fisherman’s Picnic parade and their names joined an illustrious list of Cook County residents who have been recognized.

If you would like to nominate someone for the 2010 award, please submit the following information: Nominee Name (or a couple’s name), date of birth, marital status, number of children, number of years lived in the county, work history (retirement status applicable), church affiliation, offices held and when, member of organizations, pubic office held, current community involvement. Also included should be a statement of support by the nominator (s). Tell the Citizen of the Year committee what is special about this person or couple.
