Over the coming months, Claire Smith plans to meet many residents in Cook County. That’s because she is the new Edward Jones financial advisor in town, and she wants to get to know the residents and business owners here.
Claire was hired as an Edward Jones financial advisor after an extensive screening process, according to Penny Pennington, managing partner of the firm.
“I decided to enter the financial services industry because I like helping people achieve their long-term financial goals,” Claire said. “This is a fascinating business, and I hope I can pass my enthusiasm for my work on to my clients.”
Claire works on a variety of customized solutions for helping clients prepare for retirement, live in retirement, save for major purchases, fund a child’s or grandchild’s education and transfer assets.
“After all, this industry is constantly changing. My clients can’t afford for me not to be on top of things,” Claire said.
Claire grew up in Waconia, Minnesota. She went to the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Claire’s husband Tyson was born and raised in Grand Marais.
