At the county board meeting on Jan. 24 concerning the Lutsen housing project, I must agree with Pat Zankman who spoke about employees having to make an income of $40,000-$50,000 a year to be able to afford these housing units at $850/$1,050 per month.
It makes me wonder what kind of wages these employees would make per hour? Are these units going to be affordable? Be real! I don’t think so!
Who are the businesses who would benefit most from this housing project? Certainly not the taxpayers! These businesses should take care of their own employee housing.
My thanks to Lloyd Speck and others for speaking out on behalf of the majority of taxpayers.
