Legislators don’t return to the Capitol for regular session until March 2016, but newly elected State Representative Rob Ecklund took the oath of office Dec. 17. Rep. Ecklund was elected in the Dec. 8 special election to fill the term of the late Representative David Dill. Ecklund is waiting for his committee assignments from Speaker Kurt Daudt, but he is expected to serve on the same committees as the late Rep. Dill, which were Agriculture Finance, Environment & Natural Resources Policy & Finance, Greater Minnesota Economic & Workforce Development Policy, and Mining & Outdoor Recreation Policy. Rep. Ecklund encourages community members to contact him on any legislative issue.
Now that the hubbub of the holidays is waning, it is time to start thinking about issues that may face legislators when they reconvene at the Minnesota Capitol in March 2016. We’re including contact information for everyone from the courthouse to the White House. :
