Which small town embodies “Spirit of Minnesota”?

Which town best embodies the “Spirit of Minnesota?” That’s the question Minnesota Monthly seeks to answer. Earlier this summer, hundreds of towns – from small villages to large cities – were contacted with the opportunity to enter the third annual Minnesota Monthly “Best MN Town Search.”

Towns and cities across the state heeded the call and submitted impassioned entries that included details on their history, geographic and cultural challenges and opportunities, beloved landmarks, diversity, community events and resources, and outstanding citizens, as well as photos and videos.

Now, it is up to the citizens of Minnesota to cast their vote from the Top 10 finalists as chosen by the editorial team of Minnesota Monthly: Alexandria, Eagan, Fergus Falls, Grand Marais, Lanesboro, Moorhead, Northfield, Savage, St. Peter, and Winona.

The public is invited to vote for their favorite town on BestMNTown.com through 5 p.m. on September 30. Up to 10 votes per email address per day will be allowed. Minnesota Monthly’s editorial team and the popular vote will play a role in the selection of the winner from Top 10 finalists.

The winner will be announced via a live broadcast on Minnesota Monthly’s Facebook page on October 1. The winning town will receive many benefits including a multi-page editorial feature in Minnesota Monthly (valued at over $50,000).
