Where are the fish biting?

Rain and snow did not keep fishermen from the lakes last week.

According to John at Buck’s Hardware, walleyes have been caught on Cascade Lake in 28 feet of water using a jigging rappala. At Two Island Lake, walleyes have been found in 30 feet of water using a jig and minnow.

Trout Lake continues to be a hot spot with trout being found in 45 feet of water. Greenwood Lake fish are being caught at 50 feet of water using ciscos. And Loon Lake has offered trout in 35-40 feet of water using jig and minnow.

A few splake have been caught. One fisherman had good luck on Bogus Lake in 19-20 feet of water.

Congratulations to our “fish reporter” John M. for getting seventh place in the Brainerd Ice Fishing Extravaganza. John won a very nice ice fishing suit outfit.
