Tyson at the Beaver House has heard that northerns on Northern Light, Two Island, Elbow, Little Cascade and Swamp lakes are biting.

Smallmouth bass are biting good all over.

“Rainbow trout are biting on Mink on float rigs or Beaver Flicks and crawlers,” Tyson said. Also on Kimball, and nicesize ones on Trout Lake.

Walleyes are biting on Devil Track in the evenings on leeches, slip bobber and Beaver Flicks. Also on Brule, Sag and Crescent lakes.

“On Lake Superior the bite is hot for salmon and lake trout. Trout and salmon are being caught casting off shore with Little Cleos, white or pink Rooster Tails, and Castmasters,” said Tyson. “There is great fishing out on the big lake for lake trout and salmon — 25 to 40 feet on flat line and in 40 to 70 feet, and salmon close to the surface.”

Some lake trout are being caught in 170 feet of water. Water surface temp. is 53-62 degrees.

Finally, Tyson reports that brookies are biting in the area streams.
