Where are the fish biting?

Tyson at the Beaver House says the brookies are biting in the area streams. Smallmouth bass are hitting in most area lakes: Two Island, Seagull and Sag.

Rainbow trout are biting in Trout, Mink, Kimball and Birch lakes; northerns are biting in Devil Track and Northern Light off the Gunflint Trail.

Lake Trout are biting in 160 to 180 feet of water in Lake Superior and the water temperature is coming up. Lake trout are hitting out front of the river mouths using little Cleos, Rooster Tails and Wabblers.

Meanwhile, the walleye report is slow with a mayfly hatch going on. Best lakes are Brule Lake using a Beaver Flick, leech and slip bobber.

Whitefish are biting on Devil Track trolling small Rappalas, blue and white.
