Scott Sorenson of Fly Box & Company reports that inland rainbow trout fly fishing in streams has started to turn on as the water cools down.
Scott said leech pattern streamers are working well. Other colors that are good are bright reds and yellows, which are working best on the shorelines.
Pink salmon will be in the rivers in about six days. Scott recommends using egg patterns, glow bugs and dry flies.

Captain Kelly Shepard of North Shore Outdoors Lake Superior Charters reports that lake trout are still biting well from the surface to 120 feet deep. Pink and purple are the colors of choice. Water temps are up around 64 degrees.
Kelly said there’s some pink salmon around.
Captain Jerry Skarupa of Secret Lures said few fishermen have been out on Lake Superior in recent days because it has been rough. However, Jerry said when you can get out, trout are being found at depths of 80 feet. He said very few salmon are being caught.
Water temps continue to be warm for this time of year, ranging in the mid 60s. Jerry said that doesn’t affect the bite as the fish just go deeper.
