Forrest at Hungry Jack Lodge said walleye fishing has picked up again. A 26-inch walleye and four good eaters were caught with a spinner and night crawler in the evening.
Smallmouth bass are hitting top water baits at Hungry Jack Lake in 8-10 feet of water. Nice bass being caught on Rose Lake under the falls.
Rainbow trout are still biting on Leo Lake using crawlers.
Captain Jerry Skarupa of Secret Lures gave a short report. Jerry said lake trout are at depths of 80-130 feet. They are biting on spoons, pink, purple or silver. He reports water temps ranging around the 65-67 degrees.
Captain Kelly Shepard of North Shore Outdoors Lake Superior Charters reports that lake trout are biting very well from the surface to 90 feet deep. Pink and purple are the colors of choice. Water temps are around 55-59 degrees. There’s a surge of salmon.
Tyson at the Beaver House said walleyes have been spotty using minnows and leeches or crawlers using a Beaver Flick.
Lake trout are being caught in the mouth of Cascade and Poplar rivers using Little Cleos, Krocodiles, K.O. Wobblers. A 20-pound lake trout was caught on a Blue and White spoon made by Tyson.
Some fishermen are still getting rainbows on Mink and Kimball lakes.
Smallmouth bass on taking top water lures all over.
Tyson has heard that few salmon are around.
Northern pike have been caught on red spinners on Devil Track and Elbow lakes.
Muskie are being caught on Crescent Lake.
